With a nail-biting 2-1 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies Saturday night, the Colorado Rockies and former Madison Mallard outfielder Ryan Spilborghs successfully completed a three game sweep to propel the team to the National League Championship Series. Spilborghs is the second Northwoods League alum to reach an LCS in as many years, as Detroit’s Curtis Granderson did so last season. The former UC-Santa Barbara standout started each game in center-field and hit .250 (2 for 8)with two runs scored and three walks for the Rockies in the Division Series. The NLCS begins on Thursday and can be seen on TBS.
