The Mallards are excited to announce the hiring of Kevin Caloia as the team’s Community Events and Great Dane Duck Blind Manager. Caloia is very familiar with the Mallards day-to-day operations, having served as an interim manager in the Duck Blind from 2004 to 2006. Caloia is a 2007 graduate of the University of Wisconsin and is originally from St. Charles, Ill.

Meanwhile, the Mallards say goodbye to Assistant General Manager Spencer Sweet who has applied and been accepted to the Officer Candidate School with the United States Marine Corps. Spencer has been with the Mallards for four seasons beginning in 2004 as an Operations Intern. His commitment to the Marines begins January 19th.

Said Sweet, “This was a very difficult decision to make, I’ve met a lot of really great people and made great friends in the Mallards office. I want to thank everyone involved with Mallards baseball for making my summers at the “Duck Pond” so enjoyable.”

The Mallards extend many thanks for his contributions and wish him the best of luck in all future endeavors.
