Madison, WI – April 13, 2008.

Michael Hutts, a Junior LHP from Georgia Tech, who was a member of the 2007 Madison Mallards, was found dead in his apartment Friday afternoon. No cause of death has been determined, however reports indicate violence was not a factor. More information is expected in the coming weeks.

Hutts grew up in Dunwoody, an Atlanta suburb, and graduated from The Wesleyan School in nearby Norcross. In college, he was on the dean’s list and was a management major.

“This is a tragic event & has really hit the Mallards family hard. Michael was very close with his host family & several of his teammates from his summer in Madison. He will be greatly missed by many people around the country.” said Mallards GM Vern Stenman “Our thoughts are with his family & friends.”

Hutts was not slated to be a member of the 2008 Mallards. More information will be available soon regarding memorials & any other news.
