The Madison Mallards are excited to announce the return of both public address announcer Aaron Sims and radio play-by-play broadcaster Ben Larson for the 2008 season.

Sims enters his fifth year with the Mallards and will once again handle in-stadium announcing duties for all home games. Come join us on Friday, June 20 to help honor his half-decade worth of service & receive a pint glass with Sims’ caricature (first 750, 21 & over)!

“I’m excited to come back and add my two cents to the best sports atmosphere in all of summer collegiate baseball,” said Sims. “I’m also very flattered to receive my very own pint glass giveaway. I have friends coming out of the woodwork requesting glasses who I haven’t spoken to in years, so it’s very cool (laughs).”

Also the play-by-play broadcaster for the Milwaukee Admirals the past three years, Sims was recently hired as a Ticket Sales Account Executive for the hockey team & will be responsible for selling season & group tickets. His new duties will not interfere with the Mallards season.

Ben Larson returns for his second year as the team’s play-by-play broadcaster on Madison’s Sports Radio 100.5 FM. Larson is the former host of Sports Talk on WTDY and currently reads sports segments each morning on 94.1 WJJO.

“After receiving the opportunity to get my feet wet last year, I’m thrilled to work again with the great people at Madison’s Sports Radio and the Mallards organization,” said Larson. “I cannot wait for opening day.”

The Mallards open their eighth season on Thursday, May 29 at 7:05 p.m. against the rival La Crosse Loggers. All tickets are now on sale & can be purchased online at Mallardsbaseball.com, over the phone at 246.4277, or in-person at the “Duck Pond.”
