Madison, WI – June 13, 2008. Mallards fans, we have more bonus baseball for you! With the recent storms leaving the Waterloo Bucks without a home field for the foreseeable future, the Mallards have lent a helping hand and will host a doubleheader on Sunday, June 15th (due to Thursday’s rainout) and a single game on Monday, June 16th. Sunday’s first game will begin at 1:05 p.m. and the second will follow 30 minutes afterwards. Monday’s game is slated for 7:05 p.m. New promotions for both dates are listed below!
To help celebrate Father’s Day, this Sunday the Mallards will be choosing “Dane County’s Best Father” during the game. Dads will be able to participate in such fatherly activities such as log-cutting, tie-tying, parallel parking, and balloon shaving. There will also be lawn mower racing, and even a competition to see who can assemble kids’ toys the quickest! Fifteen dads will be selected at the front gate so be sure to come early & bring your game face! The doubleheader will begin at 1:05 p.m. with gates opening at noon!
On Monday, to commemorate the Mallards last game as the “road” team at the Duck Pond, we’re going to have “Backwards Day” at the park. All of our on-field promotions will be performed in reverse – even the ceremonial “first pitch” will be performed after the game! Don’t be confused when you’re watching the game though, as all scoring will be posted on the scoreboard starting in the 9th inning and will go backwards. Game time is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. and gates will open at 5:30 p.m.
General admission tickets for both dates are 7 dollars and we’re also offering a 12 dollar all-you-can-eat-and-drink ticket that includes unlimited brats, hot dogs, popcorn, and soda through the 4th inning of the second game! Food will be served from the main concession stand in the concourse area. You can’t beat that! Duck Blind tickets are not available for either date.
Great seats are still available for all games including Sunday’s doubleheader & Monday’s contest and can be purchased online at Mallardsbaseball.com or by calling the ticket office at 246.4277.
We hope to see you at the “Duck Pond!”
