Madison, WI – October 20, 2008. The Mallards are excited to announce that former Green Bay Bullfrogs General Manager Mike Then has been hired to help lead the team’s Marketing efforts for the 2009 season. Mike spent the past two seasons in Green Bay after working for the Mankato MoonDogs for four seasons — one as a Media Relations Intern and three as an Assistant GM. A 2003 graduate of Minnesota State University – Mankato, Then is originally from St. Paul, MN.
“I’m really excited to join the Mallards staff. Having spent the past six years working in the Northwoods League, I know how great of an organization this really is and I hope I can add to it,” said Then.
“Each year the Mallards push the envelope with unique promotions and set new benchmarks that every team tries to follow. Being a part of that is a tremendous opportunity and something I’m greatly looking forward to.”
Said Mallards General Manager Vern Stenman, “Mike brings a vast array of knowledge in Northwoods League baseball operations to our organization so it’s exciting to bring in a person with such an interesting and unique perspective.”
“He played a big part in the Bullfrogs being the first expansion team in NWL history to make the playoffs in 2007 and their organization increasing per-game attendance by 27 percent in year two,” added Stenman.
