Rhythm & Booms has been canceled for today but will take place Sunday, said Terry Kelly, president of the Madison Fireworks Fund.

With a high likelihood of storms between 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. today, organizers were concerned that there would not be enough places for people to seek shelter, Kelly said. The forecast calls for lightning, heavy rain and high winds.

“We apologize to everyone for the inconvenience,” he said about noon today. “But there will be a full event tomorrow. All the bands will play, and all the food stands will be open.” Fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

Sunday will also be “Doggie Day” presented by WAGS with dogs welcome to the ballpark and dog owners will receive one free bleacher ticket (day of game only). The first 1,000 kids 14 & under will also receive a Drawstring Backpack & a St. Mary’s Happy Heart Activity Book! Gates will open at 1:30 pm. with first pitch coming at 3:05 p.m.
