Sabourin will join teammates Kurtis Muller, Harold Riggins, & Cody Winiarski in Thunder Bay, Ontario for the 2009 Northwoods League All-Star Game to be played Tuesday, July 21 at 5:05 p.m.

Madison, WI – July 16, 2009. Mallards infielder/outfielder Jerrud Sabourin (Indiana) has been added to the Northwoods League South Division Mid-Season All-Star Team in the place of his former teammate, Mark Ginther (Oklahoma State), who left the team Thursday due to personal reasons.

The versatile Sabourin has made 21 starts in left field and 14 starts at first base for Manager CJ Thieleke and will now head to Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada as an extra infielder for the All-Star Game to be played on Tuesday, July 21 at 5:05 p.m. (CST).

The left-handed hitting Hoosier is batting .290 with 4 doubles, one home run, and 13 RBI thus far for the Mallards. On the road Sabourin is hitting .333 (22-for-66) with 7 RBI.

Roster update: Outfielder Trent Soares (Fresno State) has also left the team due to personal reasons.


The Mallards return to the “Duck Pond” Thursday for a 4-game homestand beginning tonight at 7:05 p.m. This evening, the third bobblehead in the 5-part series presented by WKOW-TV will be handed out to the first 1,000 fans in the form of a “Vintage Bobble Boy Doll” courtesy of Jay Hazen/Dentistry for Madison. The first 500 fans in the Great Dane Duck Blind will also receive a Union Cab Stress Reliever.

Last and certainly not the least, former Houston Astros-great Jimmy “The Toy Cannon” Wynn will be available to sign free autographs before and during the Mallards game!

Gates will open at 5:30 p.m.
