Madison, WI – August 21, 2009. Headlined by Hall of Famer Paul Molitor, the fourth annual Mallards/MLB Alumni Game saw Maynard’s All-Stars defeat Schmitt’s All-Stars by a score of 6-5 in front of a record crowd of 6,454 at the “Duck Pond” Friday night.

The MVP of the game was current Iowa pitching coach Chris Maliszewski, who played for the Mallards in 2003. He received the win on the mound.

Other stars of the exhibition game were Craig Meier (UW-Milwaukee) who was 2-for-2 with a two-run home run for Schmitt’s All-Stars, and Andy Sigerich (UIC) who was 2-for-3 with a two-run home run of his own for Maynard’s All-Stars.
