The Madison Mallards would like to welcome the newest member of the Northwoods League, the Lakeshore Chinooks. The Chinooks and the Northwoods League announced Tuesday that the expansion franchise located in Mequon will start play in 2012. The team will be co-owned by former Brewer great Robin Yount and Brewers legendary radio voice Bob Uecker. The majority owner will be Jim Kacmarcik of Kapco Inc. out of Grafton, WI. The team will play all of its home games at a newly renovated field at Concordia Uniersity-Wisconsin, on the shores of Lake Michigan. The Chinooks will join the Madison Mallards, Green Bay Bullfrogs, Wisconsin Woodchucks, Eau Claire Express, LaCrosse Loggers and Wisconsin Rapids Rafters as Wisconsin’s members of the Northwoods League.
The Madison Mallards are members of the 17 team Northwoods League. The Northwoods League is the nation’s largest summer collegiate league and draws more fans than any other league. 7-Game-Packs are now on sale for 2012!
