Madison, WI – April 27, 2012.  The Madison Mallards are thrilled to release their full promotional schedule for the 2012 season.  The schedule is jam-packed with plenty of bobblehead giveaways, Saturday night fireworks, several famous celebrities, and hilarious entertainment acts.  In 2012 you will see the most aggressive, action-packed, fun-paced, thrilling, and daring promotional schedule from the Mallards yet!

Alligators on the infield!  Werewolves pinch-running!  A bobbling butt bobblehead doll!  Midget Wrestling!

bruce mitchell - swamp people - web pic1You may get a chance to see all of this at the “Duck Pond” in 2012.  On June 4th, Charter Communications presents Bruce Mitchell from the hit TV show Swamp People.  There is no word whether his hard-scaled friends are coming with him.  From there you can head out on June 27th as Alex Meraz, one of the werewolves from Twilight makes a special appearance.  Have you ever seen a plastic butt bobble?  You can on July 6th for the YP.com Quack Daddies Bobble Butt.  Inspired by the Mallards dancing drag crew, this butt will dance forever!  Come back one week later on July 13th to see wrestling at its finest as the Half-Pint Brawlers Midget Wrestlers face-off on the infield.

On May 30th, Pepsi and the Great Dane will present Opening Night.  Fans will receive Chet’s Care Care and Charter Communications magnet schedules and St. Mary’s poster schedules.  The next two nights will feature Pepsi and Hy-Vee Super Hero night with a Super Hero Maynard Bobblehead giveaway on May 31st, and the TDS Human Cannonball Home Run with Dave “The Bullet” Smith Jr. on June 1st.  “The Bullet” is back again and looking forward to wowing Madison as hits a human home run by shooting himself 150 feet in the air and over the outfield fence.

Quack Daddies Bobble Butt web pageIncluding the Quack Daddies Bobble Butt on July 6th the Mallards will have eight bobbleheads this season including the Pepsi/Hy-Vee SuperHero Maynard (May 31), Charter Communications “Miscellaneous Tyler” Vendor of the Year (June 15), The Great Dane Protest Maynard (July 1), Dr. Jay Hazen Dentistry for Madison Vintage Bobble Boy (July 5), Dane County Regional Airport Pilot Maynard (NWL All-Star Game – July 24th), Scheop’s Ice Cream Presidential Election Bobblehead (July 27), and Marshfield Clinic Susan G. Komen For The Cure Princess Millie (August 5).

New this season will be LEGO kits at several games.  Kids can receive a kit of LEGO pieces with instructions to build their ballpark favorites.  These will occur on June 8th (LEGO Maynard presented by Zimbrick Honda), June 29th (LEGO “Duck Pond” Stadium presented by TDS), July 16th (LEGO Millie presented by Zimbrick Honda), and August 10th (LEGO Mallards Logo presented by Zimbrick Honda).  All of the LEGO models are designed by briXwerX Studios.

Firework shows after the game will dazzle fans on five Saturday nights including June 16th presented by TDS, June 23rd presented by Budweiser, Rhythm and Booms on June 30th, July 14th presented by Ballweg Chevrolet Middleton/Sauk City and WISC 3, and July 28th presented by Hy-Vee.  On August 10th the Mallards will have a one-of-a-kind bat light show as hundreds of bats with lights on them will be released post-game as part of the Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin Bats at the Park Night.

jerry the king lawlerJoining Mitchell and Meraz in celebrity appearances will be Erik Estrada from CHiPs on June 13th as part of the Payroll Company Police Appreciation Night.  Estrada may or may not be policing the parking lot before the game.  On July 7th fans can meet wrestling legend Jerry “The King” Lawler presented by Charter Communications.  Rumor has it that Lawler, currently an announcer for WWE has challenged Mallards PA Announcer Aaron Sims to a PA-Showdown!

The Mallards are bringing back the smash hit Inflatamaniacs for multiple games on June 8th, June 29th, and August 11th.  

Iceberg Awareness Night will be held on June 7th in honor of the 100th Anniversary of the Titanic.  The Mallards are considering giving away a free iceburg lettuce head to the first 1,000 fans.  Zombie Night will be on June 26th.  If we told you what Zombie Night was all about we would have to kill you, unless you’re already dead! Globe University Dog Day at the Park is back on July 29th.  Fans are encouraged to bring their pooch as we celebrate man’s best friend.

rob-deer-webstoryThe Home Talent League All-Star game will be on August 3rd followed by the West Bend MLB/Mallards Alumni Game featuring Lee Smith, Rob Deer, Ben Oglivie, George Foster, Bill Lee, Jim Gantner and more on August 4th.  Lastly the Mallards are hosting the Marshfield Clinic Susan G. Komen For The Cure Night and Princess Night on August 5th.  Any kids 12 & younger in princess costumes get in the game free and the Mallards will sport pink uniforms to be sold in silent auction benfiting the Komen For The Cure Madison Affiliate.

The 2012 season is upon us!  Single-game tickets go on-sale April 28th for all Mallards home games!  Don’t miss out on your chance to see these incredible promotions this summer!

The Mallards will host their season opener against the Battle Creek Bombers on May 30th at 7:05 pm at the “Duck Pond.”  7-Game Packs, season, and group tickets are on sale now!
