Madison, WI – June 22, 2012.  The Madison Mallards (9-14) will finish a two game road trip tonight at Kapco Park against the Lakeshore Chinooks (11-12).  First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm.

The Mallards fell to the Chinooks Thursday night 6-4 to extend their season high losing streak to four games.  The defense failed the Mallards again as their four errors led to two Chinook runs, which was the difference in the game.

Anthony Marzi (Connecticut) will get the start for the Mallards. Marzi (1-0) has a 2.94 ERA and 16 strikeouts in 15.1 innings pitched.  In his last outing on June 16th he gave up two runs on five hits while pitching 6.1 innings in a 5-4 Mallards win.

Josh Uhen (UW-Milwaukee) will take the mound for the Chinooks.  Uhen (1-2) has made one start and four appearances out of the bullpen so far this summer.  He has a 3.52 ERA and 15 strikeouts in 15.1 innings pitched.

The Mallards road woes continued as the loss on Thursday dropped them to 2-9 away from the “Duck Pond” this season.  They will turn to a familiar face to get their offense going tonight.  Right fielder Tyler Maricov (North Florida) is leading the team hitting .363 with four home runs and 16 RBIs.  He is tied for the Northwoods League lead in home runs, is 12th in batting average, and tied for eighth in RBIs.

The Mallards will return home on Saturday, June 23rd at 6:35 pm.  That night will be Jani-King Air Freshener Night and will also feature Post-Game Fireworks presented by Budweiser.

The 2012 season is upon us!  Single-game tickets are on-sale for all Mallards home games.
