Madison, WI – October 12, 2012. The Northwoods League office announced today that Mallards second baseman Luis Munoz (Coffeyville CC) has been named a 2012 recipient of the Rawlings “Finest In the Field” Award after leading the NWL at second base with a .973 fielding percentage.
The winners are selected based on final fielding statistics compiled by league statistician Pointstreak, a Vancouver, British Columbia based sports statistical service company. Munoz, currently a sophomore at Coffeyville Community College was tremendous at second base this season for the Mallards. He finished second on the team with 113 assists and had just five errors.

The Madison Mallards are members of the 16-team Northwoods League. The Northwoods League has more teams, plays more games and draws more fans than any other Summer Collegiate Baseball League in North America. In 2013, the Northwoods League will celebrate its 20th season.
