Madison, WI — February 8, 2013. The Madison Mallards have announced the re-signing of Mike Reuvekamp, a junior from the University of California, and Jack Livingston, a junior from Northwestern University, for the 2013 season.

The 5’10”, 160-pound speedster was also highly successful in high school. He was named first-team All-Diablo Foothill Athletic League in 2009 while at Miramonte High School and helped his team capture a North Coast Section Division III championship. He hit .420 that year and also hit .450 during his junior year in 2008. The Miramonte Matadors went 23-3-1 his senior season.
Reuvekamp hit .271 for the Mallards last summer and appeared in 59 games. He had 25 RBIs and one home run in 188 at-bats. His versatility allowed the Mallards to move him all over the field as he received starts at catcher, second base, shortstop and third base.

The 6’5″, 215-pound native of Kalamazoo, MI already has two successful seasons of Big Ten baseball under his belt. In 2011, Livingston was a Big Ten All-Freshman team selection as a designated hitter. He led the Wildcats with a .462 on-base percentage and had a slugging percentage of .505, good for second on the squad. He had 17 RBIs and 11 doubles while posting a .340 batting average.
In 2012, Livingston batted .233 for the Wildcats and had five RBIs in 16 starts. He also won Gatorade Player of the Year for Michigan high school baseball during his senior year, when he batted .435 with a school-record 12 home runs and 42 RBIs for Portage Northern High School.
The Mallards will host their season opener against the Eau Claire Express on May 29th at 7:05 pm at the “Duck Pond.” Single-game tickets will go on sale April 27th.
The Madison Mallards are part of the 16-team Northwoods League. The Northwoods League has more teams, plays more games, and draws more fans than any other Summer Collegiate Baseball League in North America. In 2013 the Northwoods League will celebrate it’s 20th season.
