Madison, WI – March 25, 2013.  Capitol View Events, the leader in Madison event production, has announced the launch of the Madison Mallards 1985k Run presented by Meriter & Physicians Plus to take place at Warner Park on Saturday, July 6th.  

The Madison Mallards 1985k Run will feature a start/finish in center field, a 1980’s cover band, two on course Disc Jockeys, and an ’80s themed after party.  Registration is now open online at www.capitolviewevents.com and is $32.  With registration, participants receive one race entry into the 1985k Run, one Mallards field box ticket for the game that night, one complimentary Mallards hat, one 80’s inspired t-shirt, and one free post-race beer.  The race will begin at 5:30 pm at the “Duck Pond.”  The Mallards game starts at 6:05 pm.

“Along with a professional executed race course, participants desire an all encompassing experience that is memorable and highly entertaining,” said Jay Mominee, Capitol View Event’s Operations Director.  “The Madison Mallards along with Meriter & Physicians Plus have collaborated with us to establish an event that is both unforgettable and affordable.  We expect the 1985k Run to become an annual staple in the local race scene while also serving as a destination for all of southern Wisconsin.”

The Mallards will host their season opener against the Eau Claire Express on May 29th at 7:05 pm at the “Duck Pond.”  Single-game tickets will go on sale April 27th.

The Madison Mallards are part of the 16-team Northwoods League.  The Northwoods League has more teams, plays more games, and draws more fans than any other Summer Collegiate Baseball League in North America.  In 2013, the Northwoods League will celebrate its 20th season.
