Madison, WI – April 23, 2012. The Madison Mallards are thrilled to release their full promotional schedule for the 2013 season. The schedule is jam-packed with plenty of bobblehead giveaways, Saturday night fireworks shows, several famous celebrities, and hilarious entertainment acts. In 2013 you will see the most aggressive, action-packed, fun-paced, thrilling, and daring promotional schedule from the Mallards yet!
Full 2013 Promotional Schedule
Opening Week
The Mallards start off their season with four straight home games at the “Duck Pond.” On Wednesday May 29th, Pepsi and the Great Dane will present Opening Night. Fans will receive St. Mary’s poster schedules and the dancing bat boy BBoy McCoy will be on-hand for in-game entertainment. Thursday May 30th will feature the Chet’s Car Care and Charter Communications Mallards Magnet Schedule giveaway and Stoddard’s Country Grove Market Bratwurst Appreciation Night. Friday May 31st is the Wisconsin DOT Bike Night featuring the Bike Safety Maynard Bobblehead giveaway. The Mallards finish their opening home stand on Saturday June 1st. This is the Stop-N-Go 50th Anniversary Celebration and Madison Blues Turn Back the Clock Night with a Blues Hat Giveaway. Mallards players will be in Madison Blues uniforms.
Bobbleheads
The Mallards will have seven bobbleheads this season including the Wisconsin DOT Bike Safety Maynard (May 31st), Pepsi Farmer Maynard (June 21st), Charter Communications Officer Maynard (June 23rd), Zimbrick Honda Military Maynard (July 5th), The Great Dane Superhero Maynard (July 6th), Dr. Jay Hazen, Dentistry for Madison Hawaiian Maynard (July 18th), and Marshfield Clinic Fairy Millie (July 28th).
Fireworks
Firework shows after the game will dazzle fans on five Saturday nights including June 1st presented by The Great Dane, June 15th presented by Budweiser, Rhythm and Booms on July 3rd, July 6th, and August 3rd presented by Charter Communications.
Celebrity Appearances
Several celebrities will be gracing the “Duck Pond” in 2013. On June 7th meet Mountain Man from the hit show Duck Dynasty as the Mallards put on their very own Madison Duck Call Championships. Don’t miss out on July 27th when WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley comes to the ballpark as part of the Charter Communications Wrestling Night. Lastly, Larry Thomas, The Soup Nazi from Seinfeld will be serving (or not serving) fans soup on August 1st.
Entertainment Acts
The dancing bat boy BBoy McCoy (May 29th & July 7th), the acrobatic Russian Bar Trio (June 28th), and the crazy inflatable animals of the ZOOperstars (July 14, July 25 & August 2nd) will all be coming out this summer!
Theme Nights
On June 12th the Mallards will have Stitch & Pitch Night where all knitters in the Madison area are invited to knit in their seats! Law Enforcement Appreciation Night is back for the third season on June 23rd and will lead off with the Heroes Challenge Softball game where local police officers and fireman will battle in a softball classic. July 9th will be Social Media Night at the ballpark. Fans will be able to participate in the game using social media outlets. #mallards #youtweetweconnect. Bacon Appreciation Night will be on July 17th with bacon food specials all over the “Duck Pond” as the Mallards pay tribute to the most delicious of meats. Christmas in July will be on July 25th with Maynard dressed as Santa Claus delivering presents to fans in the grandstand. August 11th is the Mallards final home game and will be Fan Appreciation Night complete with a garage sale during the game and a Valpak Coupon Giveaway.
Special Events
The Madison Mallards Inaugural Home Talent Classic, featuring an appearance by Paul Molitor, will be played on Rhythm & Booms, Wednesday July 3rd at 6:05 pm. The Home Talent Classic will feature the best young players from all 44 Home Talent League Teams. The outfield will be open to view the fireworks show after the game.
On July 19th the Mallards will host the Home Talent All-Star Game. General Admission tickets will be sold for this event.
The first ever Northwoods League Big League Dreams Showcase will be on July 29th. The event will feature the Top 100 Players in the NWL in a doubleheader at 4:05 pm and 7:05 pm. The players will be selected by Major League Baseball Scouts and the NWL.

The Madison Mallards are part of the 16-team Northwoods League. The Northwoods League has more teams, plays more games, and draws more fans than any other Summer Collegiate Baseball League in North America. In 2013 the Northwoods League will celebrate its 20th season.
