7-28 pre game CROPPEDMadison, Wis. Tonight’s 6:05 p.m. CT contest will mark Madison’s fourth consecutive amid a seven-day, six-game road swing through South Division competition heading into the stretch run of the season. Spencer Goebel (Spring Arbor Univ.) tonight will receive his first appearance of the summer for the Mallards starting rotation. Goebel, a 6-foot-2 right-handed pitcher from Belmont, Mich., made his debut with Madison on July 23 against the La Crosse Loggers, tabbing a perfect inning of middle relief with one strikeout in a 5-4 Mallards victory. Field manager Donnie Scott and the Mallards will make their return to the Duck Pond this coming Saturday, August 1 against the Wisconsin Woodchucks (10-11, 22-34). This Saturday’s matchup will feature The Diamond Center Diamond Dig post-game, ice-cream scoop giveaway for fans in attendance as well as a free Kids Clinic from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the Warner Park field, presented in part by Zimbrick-Honda.
