ABOUT THE MADISON RADICALS
Following an extremely successful season last year in which they came within two points of winning the AUDL (American Ultimate Disc League) Championship in San Jose, the Radicals will defend their 23-game home winning streak against the Minnesota Windchill. The Radicals have made it to the final four in each of the past three years.
Visitors and loyal fans will enjoy an upgraded fan experience that includes a wider food selection at every game, increased beer selections, more fun and games between quarters and at halftime, fresh new merchandise, and expanded seating options.
Interest in Ultimate continues to grow locally, nationally, and worldwide. Attendance topped 1,000 fans at several Radicals games last year, and the AUDL, now in its fifth year, boasts 26 teams. Two AUDL players, Brodie Smith and Kurt Gibson, are currently capitalizing on the popularity of the sport as they compete on The Amazing Race. In addition, the Radicals and Japan’s Buzz Bullets earned a full-page spread in The New York Times following an exhibition game at Breese Stevens Field last August. The Radicals appeared twice on the ESPN top ten last summer, and will have several appearances as the featured game of the week on ESPN3.
