July8thThe Mallards (1-1, 24-14) will be looking for their second straight win in tonight’s contest as they take on the Wisconsin Woodchucks (1-1, 14-23) at the Duck Pond this evening. Madison is coming off of an exciting 3-2 win against the Battle Creek Bombers a night ago, a game that saw outstanding efforts from the Mallards bullpen. They’ll look for similar success in tonight’s matchup.

Westin Wuethrich (Washington) will get the ball for Madison tonight, as the right-hander will be making his second start and fifth appearance of 2016. He’s 0-2 on the season with a 4.00 ERA, recording a save and seven strikeouts in nine innings of work. He faced the Woodchucks in a relief appearance back on June 23rd, allowing four hits and two runs in his lone inning of work.

Devin Skapura (Texas A&M Corpus Christi) will throw for the Woodchucks in the contest, having earned the win against Madison back on June 13th. Skapura went six full innings in that game, allowing two runs on five hits. The right-hander is 2-2 with a 5.02 ERA on the season, having struck out 24 batters in 28.2 frames this season.

The Mallards have gone 6-4 in their last ten games, winning a few close contests in that stretch. They’ve won those six games by a combined 12 runs, with their largest margin of victory coming in their 5-1 win over Rockford, a game that saw recently named Northwoods League All-Star Zach Jarrett (UNC-Charlotte) hit a walk-off grand slam in the ninth inning.

Tonight’s contest against the Wisconsin Woodchucks will get underway at 7:05 pm from the Duck Pond at Warner Park. The game will feature an LSM Chiropractic tumbler giveaway. It will also be Wrestling Night at Warner Park, featuring Ted DiBiase, the WWE’s Million Dollar Man. In addition, Potosi Brewing Company will be doing a pint glass giveaway.
