July30thFollowing Friday’s walk-off win over Green Bay, the Mallards (10-10, 33-23) will battle the Green Bay Bullfrogs (12-8, 27-29) for the third consecutive day on Saturday. The victory a night ago put Madison three and a half games back of first place in the South division’s second half.

Madison will turn to Frank German (North Florida) in Saturday’s game, as the right-hander will look to rebound from his last outing in Battle Creek. The performance was German’s shortest of the summer and acted as the only blemish on an otherwise spectacular 2016. German sits at 3-2 with a 3.10 ERA, racking up 27 strikeouts in 29 innings of work this season. German bested Green Bay back on June 25th, where he pitched 5.1 innings of two-hit baseball, allowing one run in the process.

Matt Ellenbest (Morehead State) will get the ball for Green Bay, with the Medina, Ohio native set to make his 13th appearance and sixth start of the summer. The right-hander is 4-1 with a 3.28 ERA, owning a WHIP of 1.29 across 38.1 frames in 2016. Saturday’s start will mark Ellenbest’s first appearance against Madison.

The Mallards have played some great baseball over their past three home games, scoring a combined 21 runs in those contests. Friday’s walk-off victory was the team’s third of the season and second against Green Bay this year.

Saturday’s game against the Green Bay Bullfrogs will get underway at 6:35 pm from the Duck Pond at Warner Park. The game will feature a Democratic vs. Republican Maynard Bobblelection giveaway.  Tickets are available for purchase by visiting MallardsBaseball.com, calling the Mallards ticket office at 608-246-4277, or stopping in the ticket office at 2920 N Sherman Ave.
