Madison, Wis. – The Madison Mallards (11-11, 30-27) are ready to get back on track tonight as they welcome the Battle Creek Bombers (15-7, 35-22) to Warner Park. Madison’s pitching staff will look to bounce back as the Mallards send their ace, Tyler Dyson (Florida) to the mound. A Madison win will snap Battle Creek’s six game winning streak.
Dyson, who earned the win in Florida’s National Championship CWS game, is 2-0 through three starts with the Mallards this summer. Dyson owns a 1.20 ERA and has struck out 14 in 15.0 innings pitched. Dyson earned a win in his last outing as he went five innings and allowed only one run on three hits while punching out six.
The Mallards offense will look to back Dyson with run support after coming up short in two games yesterday. Infielder Sam Armstrong (Jacksonville) will look to continue his success at the plate after knocking in four runs on a two-run shot and a double in game one yesterday.
Scheduled to start for the Bombers is righty Andrew Click. Click owns a 2-3 record this season and has a 5.57 ERA. Click will be making his eighth start and has tossed a total of 30.2 innings this season while racking up 26 strikeouts.
