The Madison Mallards have partnered with TDS on Maynard’s Lil’ Ducks Reading Program. The program partners with schools throughout the Madison and surrounding area to encourage students to read by following a baseball tracking system.

“The TDS Maynard’s Lil Ducks Reading Program continues to be one of the best impacts the Mallards have on our community. We are proud to work with Madison area schools to promote and help reading education,” said Madison Mallards General Manager, Tyler Isham. “Our reading program family nights at the Duck Pond are some of our best nights of the year, and we cannot wait to welcome this awesome group of readers to the ballpark in 2019, with the help of our amazing partner, TDS.”

Free to participate, each classroom has the opportunity to customize each reading goal to best fit the students’ reading needs. With prizes as they round each base, students will be rewarded for the more they read. Once the participant achieves that final reading goal and crosses home plate, the student will receive a certificate and two free tickets to a Mallards game.

Last year, the Madison Mallards and TDS had a record-breaking year with over 102 schools in the area participating and 9,600 students completing the program.

The Mallards and TDS have set a goal to help encourage over 11,000 students to hit a home run in reading with the 2019 Maynard’s Lil’ Ducks Reading Program.

“We are honored to have this opportunity to support the Mallard’s Reading Program. It is such an important program to encourage kids to read and work towards achieving a goal,” said Kari Gray, TDS Consumer Marketing Manager.
