Last night,  the Madison Mallards (37-25) suffered a close loss to the Wausau Woodchucks (29-33) in their final meeting for the regular season. Despite grabbing an early lead, errors on the Mallards defense contributed to a 8-5 Woodchuck victory, to split the series. The overall meeting record for the teams is 7-5, in favor of Madison.

Today, the Mallards are on the road to Battle Creek, Michigan, to compete in a two-game series against the Bombers (21-41). This is the first of two meetings the teams will have during the regular season this season.

The Bombers are a member of the Great Lakes East Division. Battle Creek currently sits in last place overall, 24 games behind the first place Traverse City Pit Spitters (45-17). For the second half, Battle Creek still remains in last place, 14.5 games behind the dominant Pit Spitters.

Making his debut on the mound in a Mallards jersey is RHP Daniel Bagwell (Queens University of Charlotte). Bagwell joins the Mallards after his sophomore campaign with the Royals. He made appearances in 16 games with two starts, posting a 1-2 record with a 3.72 ERA. Across 38.2 innings he accumulated 39 strikeouts, totalling two complete games and two saves. First pitch is set for 7:05 EST.

After game one is complete, the Mallards will return to C.O. Brown Stadium the next day for the series finale. First pitch is also scheduled for 7:05 EST.

Following the series against Battle Creek, the Mallards will travel to Choice Furniture Field at Rivets Stadium to compete against Rockford (29-33). This is the second set between the two teams this year, the first resulted in a split. Game one first pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. CT, game two is slated for 1:05 p.m. CT.
