Following a doubleheader yesterday in Mequon against the Lakeshore Chinooks, the Madison Mallards (9-14) are back at the Duck Pond at Warner Park hoping to avoid the rain and begin a two-game series with the Green Bay Booyah (9-15).
The Booyah are coming into this series off a split of a doubleheader yesterday against the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters. They currently sit in last place in the Great Lakes West division, half a game back of the Mallards who are in fifth.
Tonight the Mallards will send Eliot Turnquist (UW-Milwaukee) to the mound for his fourth start of the season and first in Madison. Turnquist, who recently committed to UW-Milwaukee after playing at Ball State, has a 3.72 ERA in 9.2 total innings pitched.
On the mound for the Booyah will be Jacob Riordan (Georgia State). Riordan will be making his first start of the season, but has made four appearances in relief, pitching 13.1 total scoreless innings.
Tonight is the first of a Thursday-Friday series with the Booyah and has a scheduled first pitch time of 6:35 p.m. We will provide any updates regarding the rain on our social media pages. Friday’s game against the Booyah is also scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
