Following a 6-2 win on Friday night, the Madison Mallards (14-17) look for the sweep tonight and their fourth consecutive victory as they host the Wisconsin Woodchucks (20-13).

The Mallards got great performances on the mound and at the plate on Friday. Drake Baldwin (Missouri State) won Northwoods League Player of the Night after going 4-for-4 with three RBI’s.

Ryan O’Hara (Illinois) made his first start of the season, pitching six one-hit innings without allowing a run. He was credited with the win.

Tonight the Mallards will send Ernie Day (Iowa Western) to the mound for his first start at the Duck Pond this season. Day has made five starts this season all on the road, and owns a 6.10 ERA. He surrendered three runs or less in his first four starts but pitched just 1.1 innings, giving up five runs against the Woodchucks.

The Woodchucks will send Tyler Hoeft (Washington State) to the mound for his sixth start. Hoeft owns a 3.38 ERA in his five starts this season and has pitched twice against the Mallards this season, winning one and having a no-decision in the other.

Tonight’s game is the conclusion of the two-game set with the Woodchucks. The Woodchucks one game back of first place in the Great Lakes West division with just a few days remaining in the first half season.

First pitch tonight is scheduled for 5:05 p.m. with the Mallards then staying home to welcome in the Kenosha Kingfish starting at 5:05 p.m. Sunday. There will be postgame fireworks after tonight’s game as well as Sunday.
