The Mallards record seven combined hits in two losses against the Rockers
Madison, WI – Madison failed to provide their pitching staff with any run support for the second straight night against Green Bay in their 2-1 loss on Friday night.
The starting pitching in Friday’s contest was just as good, if not better than it was on Thursday during the series opener. Maddox Longthrew six innings for Green Bay. Madison’s only run was scored when Davis Hamilton doubled to take a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 3rd inning.
Andrew Guardino tossed seven innings with five strikeouts for Madison in his second start of the summer. The only damage that Guardino surrendered was in the 7th inning when Austin Fawley burned the Mallards for a second straight night with a two-run home run to take a 2-1 lead.
Madison and Green Bay combined for each of their lowest scoring outputs in a single series this summer with eight total runs scored. The Mallards previous low was in an early June series with Lakeshore where Madison and Lakeshore combined for 13 runs.
Henry Chabot slammed the door on Madison in relief. The All-Star alternate shut out Madison in his three innings, striking out two in the final inning after the Mallards left runners on the corners in the 8th.
Madison turns their head to the Chinooks for a three-game weekend series starting in Mequon on Saturday night from Kapco Park at 6:35 P.M. CST.
