Madison, WI – The Madison Mallards (38-27) defeated the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (19-46) on Tuesday night at Warner Park, completing a 12-0 season series sweep.

The Mallards opened the scoring in the third inning. Ashton Quiller (Arkansas State University) drove in Davis Hamilton (University of Minnesota) to give Madison a 1-0 lead. Later in the inning, Dom Jacoby (University of Louisville) raced home on a wild pitch to extend the advantage to 2-0.

Madison starter Anthony Karbowski (University of Louisville) kept the Rafters off the board through the first five innings, finishing with a career-high nine strikeouts. In the bottom of the fifth, Preston Yaucher (Penn State University) doubled the Mallards’ lead to 4-0 with a two-run home run.

Wisconsin Rapids chased Karbowski from the game in the sixth inning as its offense came to life. Bennett Crerar (Princeton University) delivered an RBI single to make it 4-1 before Aidan Thaxton (Butler University) ripped a two-run double later in the inning to cut the deficit to 4-3.

The Mallards added an insurance run in the seventh on a Quiller sacrifice fly. The Rafters scored once in the ninth, but Chase Baker (Indiana State University) induced a game-ending 6-4-3 double play to preserve the 5-4 victory.

Brayden Zilis (Illinois State University) was credited with the win for Madison, while Brennan Baker (Newberry College) took the loss for Wisconsin Rapids. Chase Baker picked up the save.

The Mallards travel to Mequon to face the Lakeshore Chinooks on Wednesday night at 6:05 p.m. Madison returns home Friday night to take on the Green Bay Rockers at 6:35 p.m.
