For the third time this season, Madison native Ryan Zink came up on the short end of a 1-0 decision, this time falling victim to the Rochester Honkers Saturday night in Rochester. Zink pitched all eight innings for the Mallards, striking out five and walking only one. Jeff Corsaletti knocked in the lone run of the game to help the Honkers move within two and a half games of first place Madison. Waterloo also won Saturday evening to pull within a game of the Ducks.

Jeff Bieker provided the majority of the Mallard offense, going 3-4 with a double. The only other offense given to Zink were hits from Jay Johnson, Chad Frk, and John Martin.

The Mallards will attempt to split the series with the Honkers tomorrow evening in Rochester. Wednesday is the next Mallards home game, with game one of a day/night doubleheader having a 1:05 PM start time. Tickets for remaining Mallards home games are available both online at www.mallardsbaseball.com and at our office located at Warner Park. Pre-purchasing tickets is strongly suggested by the Mallards front office staff.
