Iowa?s Tim Gudex picked up three saves this past weekend as the Hawkeyes picked up three wins in a four game series at Michigan. Gudex, a left-hander from Appleton, is 2-3 with three saves in 13 appearances. Returning Mallard Ryan Zink picked up his third win of the season for the University of Illinois-Chicago allowing eight hits and three runs in the Flames 6-3 victory of Wright State last Friday. The Madison native is 3-3 with a 3.26 ERA in eight starts.

At the plate, Hollenbeck?s teammate Kelly Sweppenhiser hit a pair of solo home runs this weekend. Sweppenhiser is hitting .398 with 10 home runs, 29 RBI and 34 runs is his junior season at VMI. Returning Mallard Jeff Bieker leads Fort Hays State with 13 home runs and a .407 average. Bieker has started all 33 games for Fort Hays and has knocked in 48 RBI and has a .839 slugging percentage.

The defending Northwoods League Champion Madison Mallards open the 2005 season on Wednesday, June 1st against the Mankato MoonDogs. Game time is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at the Duck Pond.
