Two members of the 2004 Northwoods League Champion Madison Mallards received Rawlings Silver Glove Awards for their outstanding glove work. Shortstop Abe Aguirre and outfielder Jay Johnson were awarded the league?s highest honor for defensive play at their respective positions. Johnson finished the season with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage in 59 games. Aguirre also appeared in 59 games for the Mallards and committed only 11 errors at shortstop.
The Northwoods League, in conjunction with Rawlings, announced the 2004 Silver Glove Award winners earlier this month. The Silver Glove is awarded annually to the NWL?s ?Finest in the Field.? Below is the list of this year?s recipients.
