MANKATO, MN. – Jake Hansen pitched six strong innings and Mike Rozema had three hits to spark a 13-hit attack as the Madison Mallards routed the Mankato Moon Dogs 9-1 in a Northwoods League game in front of 862 fans Tuesday night at Franklin Rogers Park.

Hansen, a freshman at Northern Iowa, struck out seven and allowed just two hits, three walks and one unearned run for Madison (35-25 overall, 13-15 second half).

Josh Wettlaufer, Doug Beck, Kyle Yates and Mike Rohde all had two hits for the Mallards, while Tyler Bullock scored three runs and had an RBI double for Madison.

The Moon Dogs (27-33, 12-16) committed seven errors, leading to six unearned runs.

MATC athlete Rick Cavaiani came on in relief in the eighth inning for Mankato and struck out all four batters he faced.

The Mallards return home tonight to take on Mankato at 7:05pm.
