THE DUCK POND. – The Rochester Honkers scored four times in the sixth inning, then held on for a 4-2 victory over the Madison Mallards in a Northwoods League game watched by 734 fans Thursday night at Mayo Field.

The loss was the third straight and fourth in five games for the Mallards (24-14 overall, 2-4 second half), who were shut out by Justin Stiver for the first seven innings.

The Ducks will try and rebound from their first losing road trip of the season with some home cooking tonight in The Duck Pond. The Mallards will host the La Crosse Loggers who currently sport the second-worst record in the Northwoods League.

?These games are big because we don?t want to lose the momentum we created in the first half,? said Mallards manager Darrell Handelsman. ?Winning at home in front of our fans is always important to us.?

Besides getting back on the winning track, there are several other great reasons to head out to the ballpark tonight. It is Sports Impressions Wisconsin Dells Night as more than thirty Dells prizes, including waterpark admissions, hotel stays, restaurant certificates, and more will be given away all night long. It will also be the World?s Largest T-Shirt Toss as more than 500 t-shirts will be thrown into the stands tonight.

Plus, tonight is Big Mike’s Uniform Night. The first 500 fans 14 and under will receive a Mallards mock jersey.

If you happen to be a high schooler, tonight is also a great night to be at The Duck Pond as it is Hot 105.9 High School Night. Just show your high school I.D. at our ticket window, and you can buy a $1 general admission ticket. Plus, S.T. from Hot 105.9 will be broadcasting live before the game tonight on the Great Dane Duck Blind.

The gates open at 5:45pm with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05pm.
