July27thAfter beating the Lakeshore Chinooks (7-10, 22-31) by a score of 15-3 in Tuesday night’s contest, the Mallards (9-8, 32-21) will finish off their season series against the Chinooks on Wednesday, with Madison having won five of the seven meetings between the two teams so far in 2016.

Last night’s victory saw Madison rack up a season-high 15 runs, with Nate Palace (Valparaiso) earning Northwoods League Player of the Night honors for his performance. Palace went 4-for-5 with two home runs and six RBIs, with one of his long balls being a grand slam.

Currently tied for the league-lead in wins so far this season, Mike Reitcheck (Penn) will take his perfect 6-0 record into battle against Lakeshore on Wednesday, having topped the Chinooks once already this season. Back on June 27th, the left-hander allowed one run on six hits in six innings of work en route to the win, striking out three in the process. Reitcheck owns a 4.18 ERA in 43.0 frames across nine appearances (eight starts).

Lakeshore will throw a left-hander of their own in the form of Tyler Jandron (UW-Parkside), who currently sits at a 1-1 record with a 2.22 ERA. The game will be Jandron’s sixth appearance and fifth start of the summer, having earned the win against Madison back on July 1st. In that contest, Jandron allowed two runs (zero earned) on five hits in 5.1 innings of work, walking two and striking out two.

Wednesday’s game against the Lakeshore Chinooks is set to get underway at 7:05 pm from the Duck Pond at Warner Park.
