Richmond, Ind. – The Richmond Flying Mummies are proud to announce that applications are now open for the Share the Glove Youth Baseball & Softball Equipment Grant Program in partnership with the Northwoods League Foundation. The program helps provide essential equipment to local youth organizations each year across every Northwoods League community.

Now entering its eighth season, the Share the Glove initiative continues to remove barriers to participation and grow the game at the grassroots level. Since its launch, the Foundation has distributed more than $220,000 worth of baseball and softball equipment to youth programs throughout league markets.

The Northwoods League Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to using baseball as a platform to create meaningful community impact. Through initiatives like Share the Glove, the Foundation supports children and families while strengthening youth sports opportunities in the cities its teams call home.

For the 2026 season, twenty-six (26) equipment grants will again be awarded to youth baseball and softball organizations across the league’s communities. The Flying Mummies will coordinate the application process locally and assist one Richmond-area organization in receiving this year’s grant.

For the 2026 season, the Flying Mummies will award one baseball equipment grant to a Richmond-area youth organization.

What does the grant include?

Each grant consists of a standardized set of Rawlings equipment, including:

  • (1) Set of catcher’s gear (helmet, chest protector, shin guards, mitt)
  • (6) Batting helmets
  • (9) Fielding gloves (7 right-handed, 2 left-handed)
  • (1) Bucket of practice baseballs
  • (3) Bats (27”, 28”, 29”)

Who is eligible?

Organizations must meet the following criteria:

  • Qualify as a 501(c)(3), school or school-based program, or community-based organization
  • Not be an individual, for-profit business, political, or religious organization
  • Provide baseball or softball opportunities for youth ages 9–12 within the Richmond community

How to apply

Applications will be accepted directly through the Flying Mummies front office. The Northwoods League Foundation will select the recipient in coordination with the team. The deadline to apply for the 2026 grant is April 17th.
