RICHMOND, Ind. — The Richmond Flying Mummies (6-8, 23-27) wrap up a six-game homestand Sunday afternoon, looking for a win to even their series with the Kenosha Kingfish (6-6, 27-20) and home stay as a whole at Historic Don McBride Stadium.
The Mummies are celebrating Drive Home a Winner Night for Sunday’s contest with an air freshener giveaway, as well as one fan winning a free set of tires from Best-One Tire and Service. Sundays at McBride are also Sunday Funday games, where fans can play catch on the field following the end of the game.
Saturday’s 10-1 loss to Kenosha was a humbling crash back down to Earth for the Mummies following two monstrous performances in a sweep of the Kalamazoo Growlers. After combining for 44 hits and 35 runs against Kalamazoo, Kenosha held Richmond to not only just one run, but three hits on the night. That marks their lowest since June 8th, a 3-2 loss to the Rockford Rivets that was called after seven innings, and lowest total in a nine-inning game this season.
The Great Lakes East Division remains extremely competitive. The Royal Oak Leprechauns (10-4) remain in first place, a half game ahead of the Traverse City Pit Spitters (9-5). The Rockford Rivets (6-5) hold third, with the Kingfish and Mummies holding fourth and fifth place, respectively, and the Kalamazoo Growlers (6-9) and Battle Creek Battle Jacks (3-11) rounding out the division.
Hayden Brooks (0-2, 12.46 ERA) makes his third start for the Mummies, and second against Kenosha. Meanwhile, the Kingfish’s Jake Storey (2-2, 5.01 ERA) is in line for his eighth start of the season.
First pitch from McBride Stadium is scheduled for 4:05 PM EST, with gates opening one hour prior. Fans can purchase tickets at the gate, or online via the Richmond Flying Mummies website. A livestream is also available on FloSports.
