Athletic Park in Wausau, Wisconsin. The Border Cats dropped 9-4 ball game.

The Thunder Bay Border Cats (15-27, 1-6) will be happy to leave behind the state of Wisconsin as they went 0-3 on the four game road trip (with a suspended game) dropping 9-4 to the host Wisconsin Woodchucks (24-20, 6-4) at Athletic Park in Wausau. The Border Cats offense was shut down again as they only managed three hits in the ball game.

Robb Paller (Columbia University) hit a solo homerun, Chrisitan Correa (Nicholls State) had an RBI and Sal Taormina (Kean University) collected the other hit.

Three Woodchucks drove in all the runs. Zach Arnold had two doubles and three RBI's going 2-4 with a walk an a pair of runs scored. Paul DeJong went yard for the 12th time this year driving in a pair and scoring twice. Jake Scudder hit a bases clearing double going 1-4.

Zach Speer (Trinity University) took the loss (0-3), with a short two inning outing in the start. He allowed five runs, with only two earned on five hits. Nathan Aultman (Northwestern State) went 4 1/3 innings allowing just one hit and one run as a highlight out of the pen.

Connor McFadden went five innings in his 7th start allowing all four runs on three hits and two walks with four strikeouts, bumping his record to 2-1. Austin Orewiler and John Oltman pitched four shutout frames to seal the deal.

The slumping Border Cats look to get back to some home cooking as they host the red hot Eau Claire Express (22-19, 6-2) at TBaytel Park. The teams have split the season series 2-2 so far this summer.
