The Border Cats have signed three players for the 2015 Northwoods League baseball season, including Thunder Bay's Carter McEachern.

McEachern is a 6'1" 175 pound junior infielder and attends Trinity University in San Antonio, TX.  This season he's batting .329 in 43 games with one home run, 13 doubles and 20 runs batted in.  During the 2014 season with the Cats, he batted .444 in four games with four hits in nine at-bats.  McEachern suffered a broken bone in his right forearm after being hit by a pitch in a May 30th game against Duluth and missed the remainder of the NWL season.

Zach Thiac is a 5'10" 170 pound left-handed pitcher from Kenner, LA, and attends Louisiana's Nicholls State University.  This season, the junior has a 0-0 record in 15 games with 4.50 earned run average. Thiac was an NWL All Star during the 2013 season with the Cats, when he posted a 2-1 record with a 2.85 ERA in 23 games.

Thiac's college teammate, pitcher Cole Stapler, is also joining the Cats.  The 6'4", 240 pound righthander from Gonzales, LA., is in his sophomore season with the Colonels and has a 2-1 record with a 5.33 ERA in 16 games this year.

The Cats open the 2015 NWL Season two weeks from today, Tuesday, May 26th, against the Eau Claire Express.  First pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm at Tbaytel Park.
