CATS SPLIT WITH BUCKS           

For the first time since 2012 the Thunder Bay Border Cats won at Riverfront Stadium in Waterloo, Iowa. The Cats held off the Bucks for the last 3 innings for the 5-2 win Wednesday night.

Starting pitching Julian Loret De Mola (Nova Southeastern University) opened the game strong allowing only three hits and two runs over 5.1 innings while striking out three. Cole Stapler (Nicholls State) got his second save for Thunder Bay pitching the last inning allowing only one hit while striking out two.

All five Border Cats runs were earned in the top of the sixth inning with Nate Nolan’s (St. Mary’s College of CA) RBI being the first to get the Cats on the board. Donnie Sellers (Wake Forest) also notched two RBI’s during the inning allowing him to lead the Border Cats with a .500 batting average.

Thunder Bay continues their road trip to Eau Claire, Wisconsin Thursday against the Express at 8:05pm EST / 7:05pm CST.
