CATS END FIRST HALF WITH WIN

The Cats finished the first half of the season with a 1-0 win to finalize their first half record at 17-18 at TbayTel Park Tuesday night.

Jeremy Charles took a no hitter into the 6th inning before giving up a one out single. The right-hander from the University of Hartford struck out six over 7 innings but would up with a no decision as Anthony Morris (2-1) got the win with two scoreless innings of relief. Cats scored game's only run when in the 8th inning when Matt Batten (Quinnipiac University) drew a lead off walk, stole second and went to third on a throwing error. Batten scored one out later on a sacrifice fly by the NWL's leading hitter Jared James (Long Beach State).
