CATS SPLIT SERIES WITH MOONDOGS

The Border Cats split the last game of their road trip with a 7-6 walk off loss after a wild pitch to the MoonDogs Wednesday night at Franklin Rogers Park.

The Cats made a late comeback in the top of the ninth after being down 6-4 for three innings. In an exciting end to the game new comer Tyler Green (Vanderbilt) advanced to second on an error bringing home Matt Batten (Quinnipiac) before Eddie Posavec (Binghamton) notched the tying run off Carter McEachern’s (Trinity) single. Both Green and Batten put up two runs a piece on two hits while McEachern notched two RBI’s for the Cats.

Starting pitcher Cole Stapler (Nicholls) went five innings giving up six runs on eight hits while striking out two, but it was Greg Weissert (Fordham) who took the loss for Thunder Bay pitching the last 0.2 innings.

The Border Cats return home Thursday night to face the Wisconsin Woodchucks at 7:05pm EST at TbayTel Park.
