CATS FALL IN DOUBLE HEADER

The Cats fell in both games of a split double header at TbayTel Park falling 17-7 in game one and 6-3 in game two.

Even with the help of two home runs, including Mikael Mogues (Seton Hall) first of the season and Nate Nolan (St. Mary’s) team leading sixth the Cats still could not top the Huskies. In addition to three run home run Mogues put up a total of 3 RBI’s, while Jared James (Long Beach) put up two runs on one hit and one RBI for the Cats.

Starting pitcher Kyle Von Ruden (Hawaii) took the loss for the Cats pitching 5 innings allowing eight runs on eight hits while striking out two.

Jared James (Long Beach) also lead game twos hitting with two runs on three hits while starting pitcher Zach Thiac (Nicholls) took the loss for Thunder Bay going the first seven innings giving up only four runs on seven hits while striking out 4. 

The Cats head out on a nine day road trip with their first game in Alexandria at 7:05pm CST / 8:05pm EST.
