MCEACHERN & JAMES WIN RAWLINGS "BIG STICK" AWARD

Third baseman Carter McEachern (Trinity University) and outfielder Jared James (Long Beach) of the Thunder Bay Border Cats have been selected to receive the 2015 Rawlings 'Big Stick' Award for having the best batting average in their position, as announced by the league on Thursday, Oct. 8.

McEachern finished the season batting .324 in 54 games with one homerun, 66 hits and 24 runs batted in and finished 11th overall for batting average in the league.

Jared James finished the season batting .364 in 58 games and broke the franchise record for highest batting average which was previously set by Cullen Mahoney (.347) in 2011.  Jared also finished second in the league for average and was named to the Northwoods League post All-Star team.
