The Thunder Bay Border Cats held a press conference today, announcing Dan Grant as the new General Manager of the team for the 2016 season.
Grant, a Thunder Bay native, played for the Border Cats in its inaugural year in 2003. He was the first local player to ever be on the team, and scored the first game-winning run in Border Cats history during the first home opener.
Grant played on the 2002 NJCAA II World Series Champions, Parkland College in Champaign, Illinois, and went on to play NCAA DI at the University of Northern Iowa. Since then he has been coaching college ball in the CCBC and WMBL. He returned to Thunder Bay roughly a year ago and was approached by Kyle Smith, newly appointed President of the Thunder Bay Border Cats, with the offer of General Manager.
Grant says his mission with the Border Cats this year is to make them a major part of the community, and to create a fun and exciting atmosphere around the ballpark.

More information regarding season ticket sales will be available in the upcoming weeks. The Thunder Bay Border Cats Home Opener is scheduled for May 31st at 7:05 pm against the Mankato Moondogs!
