Border Cats Announce Five Year Lease Agreement for Port Arthur Stadium
The Thunder Bay Border Cats are proud to announce the signing of a five year lease for use of the Port Arthur Stadium. This new lease will ensure that the summer collegiate level baseball team will continue to operate within the City of Thunder Bay for the next five seasons.
"This lease is another step in proving the commitment of continuing Northwoods League baseball in Thunder Bay for years to come,” says Kyle Smith, President of the Thunder Bay Border Cats. “We couldn't be more excited to enter into this agreement with the City of Thunder Bay and show how much we believe in the citizens and the business community of the city. We would also like to thank City Administration who have been nothing short of amazing in working to get this lease in place."
“I would like to recognize the role of the Thunder Bay business community in supporting the Border Cats,” says Mayor Keith Hobbs. “Your generosity helps to keep baseball alive and well in Thunder Bay. It is important that as a community, we continue to stand behind our Thunder Bay Border Cats and show our civic pride.”
Newly appointed General Manager and former player Dan Grant says, “Being born and raised in Thunder Bay and having the fortunate opportunity to play for the team, this is an important moment to ensure the Border Cats can make an impact in the community in the years to come. Our Town, our Team.
