Michael Papierski (LSU), Robert Boselli, (Mercer County) Johnny Juarez IV (Mt. San Antonio College) will fill out the Cats catching staff for the 2016 season.
2014 Toronto Blue Jays draft pick Michael Papierski will be entering his second season with the Northwoods League. The 6’3” catcher from Illinois put up a .233 batting average picking up 14 runs and 15 RBI. Michael also has an impressive .996 fielding percentage with 231 putouts for the season at LSU. The tigers have won 6 National Championships and made 17 overall College World Series appearances including last year.
Robert Boselli is a 6’2” sophomore from Ventnor City, New Jersey. The Mercer County catcher has 33 hits on 123 at bats and 37 RBI. Boselli also attained a .976 fielding percentage while playing in both the first and third base positions. Boselli
Rounding out the 2016 Border Cats catchers is Jonny Juarez IV from Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, California. The sophomore has notched 39 hits on 105 at bats with four home runs and 23 RBII; Juarez IV is also putting up a .982 fielding percentage.
