CATS WIN OVER WATERLOO
Thunder Bay, Ont. – The Border Cats started their four-day home stand with a 6-3 win over the Waterloo Bucks.
Starting pitcher Gunnar Kay (Jefferson College) picked up his first win of the season going six innings allowing only one run while striking out eight. Vinny Santarsiaro (Fontbonne) also picked up his fourth save as a Border Cats closing out the last two innings not allowing any hits.
Both Michael Papierski (LSU) and Mitch Bigras (Boston College) put up one run on one hit and one RBI while Andy Weber (Virginia) notched two runs on four hits. Shane Shepard (North Carolina) helped Thunder Bay get an early lead and picking up his third home run of the season brining in two other Border Cats.
The Cats close out the series against the Waterloo Bucks Saturday night at 6:05pm EST at TbayTel Park.
