CATS SWEEP DULUTH

Thunder Bay, Ont. – The Thunder Bay Border Cats swept the Duluth Huskies in a long weekend double header Monday afternoon.

In Game one the Cats won 11-1 over the Huskies with Anthony Paesano (Georgia Southern) picking up his first win as a Border Cat. Starting pitcher Angelo Spedafino (SUNY Albany) went the first four innings allowing only two hits and striking out three. Shane Shepard (North Carolina State) notched his eighth home run of the season for a total of two runs on two hits and one RBI while Andy Weber (Virginia) put up one run on three hits and two RBI Monday afternoon. Patrick Boyle (Drew) also picked up his first save of the year closing out the last four innings allowing only two hits while striking out three.

Thunder Bay finished the second game with a final score of 6-3. Shannon Broussard (Cedar Valley) earned his fourth win of the season going six innings allowing only one run on four hits while striking out three. Bobby Honeyman (Stony Brook) and Michael Papierski (LSU) helped the Cats out with two runs a piece while Shane Shepard (North Carolina State) added three RBI to his stats.

The Border Cats head out on the road to take on the Lacrosse Loggers Tuesday night at 7:05pm CST / 8:05pm EST.
