BORDER CATS SWEPT IN WATERLOO
Thunder Bay, Ont. – The Thunder Bay Border Cats were swept by the Waterloo Bucks in a two game series that started Monday night.
In game one Thunder Bay fell to Waterloo 7-6 with Cameron Churchill (Nova Southeastern) taking the loss. After five innings Churchill allowed six runs on nine hits while striking out three. Austin Ledin (Bethel University) picked up his first two runs as a Border Cat.
Game two the Border Cats found themselves on the losing side of a 17-10 game. Starting pitcher Joey Burris (Southeast Missouri) was the one to take the loss for the Cats going the first two innings allowing 14 runs on 15 hits. Austin Ledin added three more runs on three hits while Jordan Gillerman (St. John’s) notched two runs on two hits and one RBI and Bobby Honeyman (Stony Brook) helped the Cats with two runs on four hits and two RBI.
The Border Cats start a two game series against the Eau Claire Express Thursday at 6:35pm CST / 7:35pm EST in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
