THUNDER BAY SPLIT EAU CLAIRE
Thunder Bay, Ont. – The Thunder Bay Border Cats picked up another win in their series with the Eau Claire Express on the road. Thursday’s game the Cats won over the Express 3-2 before falling to Eau Claire Friday night 5-4.
Patrick Boyle (Drew) notched his first win as a Cat going 5.1 innings allowing only two runs on eight hits while Dan McBryan (Iona) earned his first save closing out the last 3.2 innings allowing only one hit while striking out three. Anthony Brocato (St. John’s) officially leads the Cats with nine home runs, adding one in Eau Claire.
In Friday’s game it was Brandon Woznak (Southwest Minnesota State) who took the loss for Thunder Bay going 5.2 innings allowing five runs on six hits before DJ DePiero (Indian Hills) closed out the last 2.1 innings allowing only two hits while striking out four. Bobby Fulkerson (South New Hampshire) helped the Cats with one hit and three RBI Friday night.
The Border Cats begin their last series against the Mankato Moondogs Saturday night at 5:05pm CST / 6:05pm EST for a makeup double header in Mankato, MN.
