May 30,2017- It was a tough start from the opening inning for the Cats on Tuesday night. After letting up 5 in the bottom of the first — all unearned — the Cats couldn't seem to gather any type of momentum, eventually losing 12-1.

While it wasn't the outcome they were looking for there were some bright spots offensively for the only Canadian team in the league. Centerfielder Gabe Lozada, Second Baseman Colin Rosenbaum, and First Baseman Jared McCunn gathered nearly all of the Cats 7 total hits on the night, each going 2 for 4. McCunn with the only RBI after scoring Lozada on a single.

Brandon Williamson (0-1) took the loss, while Jake Rothwell (1-0) threw a solid six innings for Willmar to earn the win.

The Border Cats look to rebound tomorrow night when they complete their first series of the year against the Stingers. First pitch is 8:05pm from Bill Taunton Stadium in Willmar.
